My first visit to Glacier National Park in northwest Montana was one for the ages, not only is that national park supremely picturesque, but we were treated to an absolutely stunning sunset while we were at Lake McDonald’s boat dock. I feel somewhat bad for this photo because at the end of the dock was a young couple and they were doing what everyone else was doing that evening; gawking at the incredible sunset. The reason I feel bad is that I actually asked them if they minded moving so I could get this unobstructed view of the dock and the scene unfolding beyond. But I will say, I didn’t feel all that bad and I love that this photo resulted from that evening. It is one of my absolute favorite images I have ever taken and is the reason I can call myself an “award-winning photographer”, whatever that counts for I guess.
